How to use this EMI calculator

Enter amount, rate, and tenure in the EMI calculator above to see your monthly payment, total interest, and amortization schedule instantly. Use it to check a lender quote, stress a higher rate, or try a shorter tenure before you commit. Start at the stage you are in.

Home, personal, and car loan EMI

Use the EMI calculator above for a quick loan EMI estimate, then open a dedicated page when the product matters: home loan EMI calculator (also called house loan EMI), personal loan EMI calculator, car loan EMI calculator (car EMI / vehicle EMI), education loan EMI calculator, or credit card EMI. The same reducing-balance math also works for gold loan EMI, business loan EMI, and bike loan EMI when you enter that product’s amount, rate, and months.

Before you apply

First, decide how much to borrow. Take the price of what you are buying, subtract what you can pay yourself, and keep some money aside for fees. The loan amount guide walks you through it. Next, choose how many years to repay over. More years make each monthly EMI smaller, but you pay interest for longer, so the loan costs more in total. The loan tenure guide helps you find a comfortable middle. Then use the loan eligibility calculator to see how much you can borrow based on your income and any EMIs you already pay.

Eligibility is a planning ceiling, not a promise. Banks still weigh credit score, employment type, and income stability. Leave headroom so a floating-rate reset or a temporary income dip does not break your monthly budget. If the calculator says you can afford a larger loan than you need, borrow less: unused eligibility is not a target.

When the offers arrive

Two offers can look alike and still cost very different amounts. One may use a longer tenure; another may look cheap until you add the processing fee or a later rate reset. The guide to comparing loan offers shows how to line them up fairly, and the comparison tool puts two side by side. If your rate is floating, check the EMI at 1% or 2% higher using the floating rate guide before you sign.

Compare total outflow (EMI × months + documented fees), not only the monthly installment. Ask for the reducing-balance rate in writing. Treat "from" rates as marketing until they match your sanction letter. This EMI calculator is bank-agnostic: paste figures from any bank or lender the same way, or start from one of our bank EMI calculators, already filled in with typical rates for major Indian lenders.

After you borrow

Once the loan is running, you can still save a lot. Paying a little extra, especially in the first few years, can take years off the loan and a large amount off the interest. The prepayment guide explains why timing matters so much. If your monthly payment feels too heavy, there are practical ways to bring it down. Moving your loan to another bank for a lower rate, called a balance transfer, is worth it when the saving is bigger than the cost of switching. And if you have a home loan in India and file under the old tax regime, you may be able to claim tax benefits on it.

AI mode on the calculator

Above the inputs, switch from Manual to AI if you would rather describe the loan than drag sliders. Type a short note such as "home loan 50 lakh at 8.75% for 20 years" and the calculator fills amount, rate, and tenure on your device. AI mode only reads what you type; it does not invent a bank quote. The EMI still uses the same reducing-balance formula as Manual mode. Prefer Manual when you already have exact figures from a sanction letter or statement.

Amount-specific EMI pages

If you already know the loan amount, open a fixed-principal page. Home loan: 10 lakh, 20 lakh, 25 lakh, 30 lakh, 40 lakh, 50 lakh, 60 lakh, 75 lakh, 1 crore, 1.5 crore, or 2 crore. Car loan: 5 lakh, 8 lakh, 10 lakh, 15 lakh, or 20 lakh. Personal loan: 2 lakh, 5 lakh, 10 lakh, or 20 lakh. Education loan: 15 lakh, 30 lakh, or 50 lakh. Got a bonus to put toward the loan? Try the prepayment calculator. Weighing two offers? Use compare loan offers. Offered a lower rate by another bank? Check the balance transfer calculator. Filing under the old tax regime? Estimate your home loan tax benefit.

Enter the numbers from your offer or statement, not round marketing figures. For a running loan, use outstanding principal and months left. For a new loan, use the amount you will actually borrow after down payment and any fees financed into the principal. Export the schedule if you want a paper trail for a bank conversation.

You can browse all guides at any time, and the EMI formula page shows step by step how the monthly payment is worked out. Every figure on this site is an estimate to help you plan. Your bank's sanction letter has the final numbers.

EMI calculator FAQs

Fixed rate or floating rate: which changes my EMI?

A fixed rate keeps the EMI steady for the fixed period. A floating rate can move when the lender resets against its benchmark, so your EMI or tenure may change. Stress-test a higher rate in the calculator before you commit.

Which loans can I calculate with this EMI calculator?

Any standard reducing-balance loan works in the main EMI calculator. There are dedicated pages for home loan EMI (house loan EMI), car loan EMI (car EMI / vehicle EMI), personal loan EMI, education loan EMI, and credit card EMI, plus a loan eligibility calculator and prepayment tool.

For gold loan EMI, business loan EMI, bike loan EMI, plot loan EMI, or land loan EMI, use the main calculator with that product’s amount, rate, and tenure. On each tool you can use Manual sliders or AI mode to describe the loan in plain English.

Will this EMI calculator match my bank’s schedule?

It follows standard reducing-balance EMI math used by most banks and lenders worldwide. Lenders may add fees, insurance, floating-rate resets, or different rounding. Use these figures to plan and compare offers from any bank, then confirm against the sanction letter and repayment schedule.

What does AI mode do?

AI mode lets you describe a loan in plain English, for example “home loan 50 lakh at 8.75% for 20 years”. The calculator fills amount, rate, and tenure from that text on your device. It does not invent a bank quote or compute EMI with generative AI; the EMI math stays the same reducing-balance formula as Manual mode.

Do you store my loan numbers?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Share links only put values in the URL on your device. There is no account and no server-side loan storage.
